I’ve had the pleasure of taking wedding photos at Watershed Function Centre on a number of occasions, and found it to be one of the best venues for photography in Adelaide. Located at 665 Salisbury Highway in Mawson Lakes, just 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD, the nearby wetlands, large function space, car park facilities and personalised service all combine to make it the perfect setting for a wedding.

The open balcony overlooking the wetlands offers stunning views of the surrounding water, and enables our photographers to capture both intimate moments during the ceremony and wide shots that incorporate the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

The large function space itself is also a popular indoor choice for the wedding ceremony, as it has large windows with white curtains that enable our team to control the how the natural light is used.

There are also outdoor areas in which the wedding ceremony can be held (especially useful if there is a large guest list). This setting also provides an ideal location for photos, and the restaurant and other buildings can provide an interesting and varied backdrop.

There are also a variety of settings that can be used for more formal portraits of the happy couple, as well as group shots featuring family and friends.

Most interesting of these are the board walks that extend out into the wetlands. Surrounded by water, these walks offer an endless array of natural backdrops, especially when the sun is setting at the end of the day and the light is fading.
