BEST HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS AUSTRALIA
Honeymoon Destinations In Australia
Once your big day is over, along with all the stress of planning, the next big thing you’re looking forward to is a well earned honeymoon. While we know there are so many amazing and exotic destinations abroad, have you ever considered staying within Australia?
We recently carried out a survey to find out the best honeymoon destinations Australia, so you don’t have to leave the country. With 2020 being a year of change, it’s made a lot of us rethink our plans, especially when it comes to weddings. We’ve put together a list of popular Australian honeymoon locations for you to consider.
Port Douglas, Queensland
If you’re after a tropical getaway, then be sure to check out Port Douglas. Known for its beach resorts and a gateway to the breathtaking canopy of the Daintree National Park and crystal waters of the Great Barrier Reef. It’s where these two iconic world heritage listed sites meet.
Take to the sea as you choose to snorkel or scuba dive, while marvelling at the coral formations of the Great Barrier Reef. Alternatively, discover the Daintree Forest on foot, or even better, I hear there’s even a rainforest zip line, so you can hopefully get a birds eye view.
Recommended Places to Stay:
Sheraton Grand Mirage
Niramya Villas & Spa
Peppers Beach Club Resort
Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa
Situated off the coast of Mission beach and nestled among the Great Barrier Reef, Bedarra Island is the definition of a luxury honeymoon destination. Treat yourself to an exclusive entrance and take a private helicopter ride to this gorgeous resort. Bedarra Island is a location where you can relax in a luxury oceanfront villa, take in the stunning scenery, plan romantic walks through the rainforest and devour some exceptional cuisine. Sounds perfect doesn’t it!
Broome, Western Australia
Broome, it’s where the desert meets the sea. If I were to choose a honeymoon destination in Australia now, I’m pretty sure I would choose Broome. Maybe it’s because I love chasing sunsets and I hear Broome has some incredible ones. Hold hands, as you take a romantic stroll, experience a sunset camel ride on Cable beach or a dip in the Indian Ocean. Why not learn and discover all about Broome’s pearls too by visiting the Willie Creek Pearl Farm Shop.
Cradle Mountain, Tasmania
Having lived in Tasmania for a couple of years myself, I can see why couple’s choose this beautiful place. With its rugged terrain, gorgeous walking trails, beautiful coasts and crisp mountain air, it boasts of plenty to do. At Cradle Mountain, you can choose various walks, leaving you with spectacular views over Lake Dove and the jagged Cradle Mountains. Breathe in the fresh air and marvel at the bush land. Regardless of the season, Cradle Mountain has something to offer for any newly wed couple.
Top End Northern Territory
If you’re dreaming of desert landscapes and outback, balmy tropical nights, waterfalls and rugged coastline, then discover Australia’s top end. Explore Katherine Gorge by canoe, helicopter or boat. Take guided tours through Kakadu, while spotting native birds and most likely crocodiles. Ensure you take a swim and experience the cool water, while waterfalls cascade down. This is no doubt a postcard moment. The Northern Territory is definitely for couples who seek not only an ultimate experience, but also something unique.
Yarra Valley, Victoria
While the Yarra Valley may be known for it’s wine region, there’s still a lot more this area has to offer. Plan a picnic and enjoy some of the beautiful countryside or why not consider a hot air balloon adventure, weather permitting of course. This is something I highly recommend, as the views are simply amazing.
